The week of the 4th August

Its been another busy couple of weeks, I didn't get to do a recap last week so this is effectively for two weeks. Between gymbaroo, swimming, mothers group, and trying to catch up with friends, the weeks have just flown by, and the weekends come as a well needed refuge.

We finally signed a contract to have our bathroom and laundry renovated. It starts next week so I'm excited but also nervous about having to work around not having a bathroom with a young baby for three weeks.

I started making lactation cookies again to see if they would help (I blogged about my issues with breastfeeding here if you want to read about it), so have been snacking on heaps of those as well as this yummy five:am yoghurt.

I also finished my box of chia squeezes, so I decided to make my own and they turned out great! I actually think I like them better than the Mamma Chia ones, which is good because its also cheaper to make my own. I got these reusable pouches from Pouched.

In major fashion news, I got my Jimmy Choos signed by the man himself! Jimmy Choo was making an appearance at Claremont Quarter for a shoe exhibition they have set up in his honour. I was lucky enough that my mum works for the centre and got to meet him! So lucky ;)

In other fashion news, I bought my first pair of pants in about 5 years. I have refused to wear pants for such a long time as I didn't think they suited my body shape, but I found these at target and really liked the look o them. My mum thought they looked like pajamas, but I don't think so. What do you think about this style of pant? I ended up getting the blue ones, but thinking about getting the black/white as well.

Also fell in love with this skirt from Seed. I haven't bought anything for myself from there before, only baby clothes.

New shoes! I really wanted a pair of bright pink shoes and these fit the bill perfectly. This was also a nice bonus from work!

Finally got a new one of my favourite candle: Aquiesse Boardwalk. I haven't even had to burn it yet, the smell of the candle alone fills up the room.

Another big thing that's happened is I've officially cancelled my gym membership. I was finding it so hard to go now that I've got a newborn, because I'm already out of the house two nights a week for pilates, and the rest of the week I really wanted to be home with the husband and baby for quality family time. I am now on the Turbo Fire bandwagon, and having done it for about a week so far I can say I'm enjoying it. Its much more practical for me as I can fit in a workout at home when S is asleep rather than having to wait for P to get home to look after her.

We went to the Perth Baby Expo on Saturday, and made out like bandits with samples. Will probably give quite a few away to my mother friends as I really don't need most of them.

Lastly, on Sunday we went on a huge (1.5 hour) walk down by South Perth. The weather was amazing and it felt great just to get out with the family and enjoy a walk.

S also turned 4 months on Sunday, so we wanted to get some proper photos of us. We ended up with some great shots, here's my favourite:

New Workout Gear Haul

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I was very spoiled by my friends and family with gifts cards to Lululemon and Lorna Jane, two of my favourite stores. Over the long weekend P and made the trek into the city so I could go to Lululemon, and here's my haul and reviews:

Lululemon tops (L - R:  Cool Racerback in We are from space black, Swiftly Tech short sleeve top, Cool Racerback camo print)

Lorna Jane (L - R: Cresent Excel half zip top, Amy full length tights, Comfort sports bra).

Here's some modelling shots. I am a size 12 in Lululemon and find the tanks really slim fitting.

My favourite buy out of all of them would have to be the Lorna Jane full length leggings. I think I wore them everyday the week I got them. In fact I loved them so much I've purchased a second pair so that I have a backup in case they're in the wash!

I love the feeling of new workout gear, it provides a little bit extra motivation when getting ready to workout.

Baby Outfiits

Baby clothes are so adorable, it is hard not to get carried away buying too much. Since having a baby, I have discovered a love for Bonds clothing (cheap and comfy), Seed Heritage (pricey but great/different designs for special occasions), and Target (cheap). S has finally grown out of her newborn clothes and is into 000's so we've had to buy a few things recently. Here's some of her (my) favourite outfits at the moment:

Top and leggings from Target (cute ruffle butt)

Top and hoodie from Bonds, leggings from Next Direct.

Top and leggings from Seed Heritage.

Dress from Seed Heritage and leggings from Next Direct.

I have to add these in here as they are so cute, I splurged and bought these mouse shoes from Seed. S's feet are still too small to fit them but hopefully soon she will be able to wear them every day!

I have also bought a bunch of things from Ozsale in bigger sizes as they have great deals all the time. The shipping takes a while but as I buy things in advance its not a big deal for me. I've got an order arriving soon so will do a post when it comes (shoes and socks).

Shoe Chronicles # 2 : The Newest

I was meant to post this on Wednesday but we've had a crazy week.

This is part 2 of my shoe collection, and I thought it would be good to show my latest acquisition, the Rag and Bone Newbury boots in black. With winter coming up I wanted a pair of good quality black ankle boots and spent ages researching which ones would suit me best when I came upon the Rag and Bone boots. From what I could tell online, as I had never seen them in person, they appeared to be very classic looking and trans-seasonal which was exactly what I was looking for. P wanted to buy me something nice for my first mothers day, so the timing was great. I purchased these through Net-a-Porter and as usual they arrived in a couple of days in perfect condition.

Birds eye view:

My first attempt at modelling shots (I need to get P used to taking these for me!):

And a close up shot from the side:

I am also wearing a tunic from Country Road and leggings from Ezibuy.
I love these boots so much, I've been thinking about getting the same in a light brown colour for summer. Hopefully they go on sale!

Summer sale shoe picks: Matches Fashion

So the summer sales have started in the northern hemisphere, and as usual there are some great deals to be found on designer gear. Although my budget is limited this year due to our new arrival, it doesn't hurt to look! The first site I visited was Matches fashion. I have purchased from this site in the past and have had great experiences. They send your items in the most beautiful boxes which I use for storage (stylish and useful). I would have to say they are on par with Net-a-porter in terms of service.

Here are my shoe picks for their Summer 2014 sale:

Aquazurra Beverley Hills suede sandals $488 (40% off)

Rag and Bone grey suede Newbury boots $344 (40% off)

Alexander McQueen Metal Toe-Cap Pumps $365 (50% off)

Gianvito Rossi Red Ankle Strap Suede Sandals $399 (40% off)

Dolce & Gabbana Bellucci Slinkbacks $336 (50% off)

If I were able to buy one, it would be the Aquazurra sandals, the colour looks amazing! Which ones are your favourite?
